Welcome to the Youth Parliament of Manitoba (YPM). We are one of the longest-running model parliament organizations in the world, having held sessions continuously since 1922.

Throughout our history, we have seen some of the most influential people in the province — and the country — pass through our ranks. Community leaders like Lloyd Axworthy, Howard Pawley, Bill Blaikie, Darren Praznik and Bill Norrie were all members of YPM.

Our premier event is Winter Session, which takes place each December in the Manitoba Legislative Building. All youth in Manitoba are invited to sit in the chamber, where they can voice their opinion on issues that are important to them. As a member, you will have the chance to learn about current political issues and make lifelong friends from across the province.

UPDATE: Due to unexpectedly high demand, membership for the 96th Winter Session is at capacity. We apologize to any members who were not able to register, but due to logistical constraints the event is limited to 90 total members.

If you are still interested in attending session, please send an e-mail to info@ypmanitoba.ca to be placed on a waitlist in case any attendees drop out. Please include your full name and phone number in this e-mail so we may contact you in the event that a spot becomes available.

Need financial assistance to come to Winter Session? We have funding available.

All Manitoban youth who are between the ages of 16-20 are eligible to attend Winter Session. Applicants do not necessarily have to be residents of Manitoba, so long as they are able to physically attend Winter Session from December 26-31. Please contact the Registrar General if you have any questions.
