Volunteer to Clerk

What?

The Clerk Program is an exciting opportunity for alumni of YPM to take part in Session! The role of the clerk is crucial to the function of Session, equally important as any other member.

Nearly all parliamentary bodies make use of clerks, whose job is to record proceedings of the parliament and advise the parliament on procedure. Senators of YPM who are clerking may have the opportunity to take the chair and act as speaker of the sitting. Don’t worry if you’ve forgotten the parliamentary procedures! Our Ministry of Alumni Affairs will guide you through step-by-step before the sitting to ensure you have the required knowledge for clerking..

YPM has a proud tradition of inviting its former members to return to our sessions as clerks. If you are a former member and wish to be added to the clerk mailing list for upcoming sessions, please contact us.

How?

Registration for clerking is now open! To sign up, fill out our Clerk Registration form. If you have any questions regarding the page program, please contact alumni@ypmanitoba.ca.
