Garry McLean Scholarship
Overview
The Garry McLean Scholarship Fund (GMSF) launched in 2016 as the Reconciliation Fund. It was renamed in 2019 in memory of YPM’s first Elder, Garry McLean, who was instrumental in its development. Every year, the GMSF provides 10 scholarships that allow Indigenous youth from across Manitoba to attend Session free of charge. These scholarships cover clothing, travel, and food costs, and are distributed annually on a first-come basis.
The Scholarship Fund is sustained completely by donations in support of our commitment to reconciliation and inclusion. If you would like to donate to the Scholarship Fund, please visit our CanadaHelps page. You can also reach out to our Director of Finance (deputyspeaker@ypmanitoba.ca) and Ministry of Reconciliation (reconciliation@ypmanitoba.ca).
