Alumni

The alumni of Youth Parliament of Manitoba are a cherished and important part of our community and our history.

Reconnect!

Are you a former member of Youth Parliament of Manitoba (formerly Older Boys' Parliament)? We would love to hear from you!

Please take a moment to fill out the form below. We will add your information to our alumni database and send you a personal invitation to our Alumni Reception in December of 2010.

In addition, all former members are eligible to receive our biannual community newsletter — the Parliamentarian — at no cost.

Our Past Members

A tradition dating back to the founding of YPM in 1922 is to bestow the title of Premier on the elected head of the organization. We have assembled a list of our former Premiers dating back the very first Annual Session over 80 years ago, and you may recognize some of the names on the list!

Members who have made an outstanding contribution to YPM can, once they have left the organization, be named to our honorary Senate. Such appointments are made annually by the Board and official presentations take place at the Annual Session in December.

Renewing Connections

Our desire to reconnect with our past members has led to the launching of our Renewing Connections campaign.

All alumni are invited to the flagship event of Renewing Connections: the annual Alumni Reception. This event is open to all past members and their families, but we do kindly ask that you RSVP with the number of guests you will be bringing to the Ministry of Alumni Affairs.

An integral part of the campaign is the Parliamentarian, our biannual community newsletter. It is available both to former members and to other members of the YPM community and contains detailed information on YPM's current events.

Another recent campaign initiative is the yearly presentation of the Alumni Achievement Award, which is presented to a past member of YPM who has made an outstanding contribution to the community throughout their life. The award is presented yearly at the Alumni Reception in December.
